Taste and Odor Concerns

Some EBMUD customers in northern Contra Costa County have experienced recent changes to the taste and odor of their water. The water delivered to homes and businesses meets all health-related standards. The changes are due to the start up of Sobrante Water Treatment Plant, which uses a different water source than what customers in this area are typically served in the winter. The water source for Sobrante Water Treatment Plant, San Pablo Reservoir, is currently experiencing algae blooms.
