Dingee Backbone Pipeline Replacement Project
EBMUD is planning to replace a 12,000-foot segment of the Dingee Backbone Pipeline, a primary transmission pipeline that provides water to 18,000 customers located in the central Oakland Hills. The project also includes replacing 7,100 feet of smaller distribution pipeline. By replacing the aging Dingee Backbone Pipeline and associated distribution pipelines, EBMUD will improve pipeline reliability, reduce service disruption and reduce maintenance costs associated with pipe-leaks.
Workplan and Schedule
The Dingee Backbone Pipeline Replacement Project is currrently being designed. The design process should be completed in 2012, and construction will begin in 2013. EBMUD expects the project to be built by 2015.
