39th Avenue Reservoir Replacement Project

39th Ave Reservoir Replacement - 4290 Maybelle Avenue

The existing 39th Avenue Reservoir in Oakland is 90 years old. Rather than install a new roof and major upgrades, EBMUD plans to replace this existing 10 million gallon reservoir with a smaller tank (3.5 million gallons) that will provide enhanced seismic stability, improved design, and more efficient water quality maintenance.

Workplan and Schedule

The environmental review process, in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, will occur in mid-2012 and be completed in 2013. The next step will be general site planning and facility layout followed by a public meeting to discuss the plans. Neighbors in the area will be noticed on the public outreach. Construction will start in 2020.
